PROJECT

ALTERNATIVE FUEL BY SUGARCANE/BIOMASS

  • Including trees, plants, plant fiber, and animal wastes.
  • Biomass is a renewable energy source
  • Biomass is any organic matter.
  • The energy stored in biomass is called bio energy.
Bioenergy is very versatile: It can be used to provide heat, make fuels, and generate electricity.
Many bioenergy sources are replenished through the cultivation of fast growing grasses, trees, and agricultural residues like vegetable oils, wheat straw, or corn.
Introduction:
Alternative fuels, known as non-conventional or advanced fuel, are any materials or substances that can be used as fuels other than conventional fuels. Conventional fuels include: fossil fuels (petroleum (oil), coal, and natural gas), as well as nuclear materials such as uranium and thorium.
The main purpose of fuel is to store energy, which should be in a stable form and can be easily transported to the place of use. Almost all fuels are chemical fuels. The user employs this fuel to generate heat or perform mechanical work, such as powering an engine. It may also be used to generate electricity, which is then used for heating, lighting, or other purposes.
Methodology:
First of all take a fair amount of sugarcane logs or food wast or gasoline blends then extract essence of it ,then it is fermented in order to change this essence amount into starch and it is completely burnt . Now by burning of it we will get vapour from of starch than we condense it .after this process highly condense liquid was found . liquid contain approx 55% (Ethanol) alcohol.
Most gasoline blends contain about 10 percent ethanol and 90 percent gasoline.
All vehicles are equipped to handle this mixture.Such a mixture reduces greenhouse gases by up to 4 percent
Estimation:
*Approx 5000rs for 10 ml fuel.

Advantage:

< Clean Energy
< No harmful emission
< Available at low price compare to petrol
< Every year, the agricultural industry produces millions of tons of waste that could be utilized for energy production.
< In addition, the forest products industry also produces countless tons of waste that can be used as an energy source.
< Energy crops, such as willows and switch grass can be grown for the specific purpose of energy production.

Disadvantage:

< Consume More Fuel
< Require More Land
< It will reduce efficiency of vehicle
