WELDING- PART 3

WELDING OF CARS

Welding department
This department has 3 zones –
A zone
B zone
C zone
D zone

D ZONE-
 It is the heart of the welding zone. It can be called as a main part of the C zone. Step by functioning is done in it side.

BUMPER-
  Bumper is being fitted with bolts and with help of pulse and battery tool. In this line two side working is their  from the left hand side and right hand, the line goes on running slowly.

DEBBURING-
Here the spots made during welding is removed, the surface is made smooth. Removing of spots, pin type particles made during the time of welding make the surface smooth.

BOLTING-
Bots are fitted as per their dimension from left hand side and the right hand side .type of socket is square. Each on left side and right side around 9 bolts are fitted . battery tool and the pulse tool are used.

T-STUD
No bolts are used here, a rubber type sealer material is fixed on top and at the required places where it should be used.

HINGE FILMENT-
Door hinges are fitted here where the door will be attached. On both the left side and the right side it is fitted. Are fitting the hinges the door are placed, if the hinges are not their we can’t place the doors. Hinge filment is on the right hand side and door hinge setting jig on the left hand side. Now it is ready for assembling doors.

REAR DOOR FITMENT-
Rear doors are fitted on the both sides by bolts with the help of pulse tool . Around four bolts are added on both sides. The doors on the rear are fitted here.


FRONT DOOR FITMENT-
Front doors are fitted with the help of pulse tool and by bolts. Around 4 bolts are fitted on both the sides . The type of socket are the square type. Front doors are fitted here .  Upto here the doors are fitted in the body of the car. 

TRUNK FITMENT-
Trunk is being fitted , there is no left side and nor right side . 4 bolts are fitted to fit it at the back. Type of socket is square(bi-hexa) here is fitting is done of trunk as the line goes on. Pulse tool are used in this fitment.

FENDER FITMENT-
Here in this fender is fitted in the body. Fender is the side upper part in front above the tyres are placed. About 3 bolts are fitted on both sides total 6 bolts with the help of pulse tool. In modern Indian and Sri Lankan English usage, the wing is called a mudguard. However, the term mudguard appears to have been in use in the U.S. at one point. The American author E.B. White, in an October 1940 Harper's essay, Motor Cars, refers to "...mudguards, or 'fenders' as the younger generation calls them."

HOOD FITMENT-
Hood is fitted here, the front part which covers the engine is called hood. 4 bolts are fitted to fix the hood. The hood (US & Canada) or bonnet (most) is the engine cover present in the front part. Here the bots are fitted with the pulse tool. 

TORQUE CHECK-
If there is any damage or the fitting problem , if there is any problem in the body made it is being checked here. If  there is any problem or damage then the body is sent again to rework on it.

REWORK-
Here the if  there is any problem or damage then the body work is done again here the work is done again. In car manufacturing, reworking involves completing the production steps not finished on the production line and/or rectifying the stages of production that were failed by Quality Assurance.



After this zone the body is transferred to the paint shop. The parts coming in the C zone for fitment are manufactured in the d zone. D zone explained on next post.
